PERISHABLE FRAGMENTS. My sculptures begin as fragments of the body made in unfired clay: hands, feet, finger tips.
Once placed into the environment the sculptures will erode in the rain, be picked up by people and taken away, be protected or further fragmented. The raw clay is susceptible to damage and will function to speed up time, to allow us to see the whole life of the sculpture, and to show how the actions of the natural world continue to sculpt these objects as they sculpt the landscape.
